Terms of use

Club Stage is an experiment in how a group allocates attention. These terms are short because the product is small and we would rather you read them.

Last updated 23 August 2026 · clubstage.org

The short version A live room is a public place. Assume anything you say on the stage is on the record and anything you say near a hot mic can reach the board. Don't put anything here you would mind a stranger reading. We can remove content and remove people. There is no warranty and this is not a place to store anything you cannot lose.

1. What this is

Club Stage is a live conversation room. One person holds the stage at a time on a lease that runs down in real seconds. The people listening can speed that clock up or slow it down, and a majority can vote the speaker off. There is no moderator. The mechanism decides, and the mechanism is public — it is described on the manifesto and in the room's own rules, which the room can amend while it is running.

The service is provided as-is, free, with no uptime commitment. It is early software and it may change, break, or stop.

2. Who can use it

You must be 16 or older. If you are under 18, do not turn on your camera or microphone without a parent or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect anything from children.

There is no account, no password and no email. You type a name and you are in. That means we cannot verify anyone's identity, and neither can you — treat every room as a room full of strangers.

3. The room is public and it keeps a record

By joining you agree that:

Do not join a Club Stage room if you are not comfortable being recorded.

4. What you may not do

5. What you keep, and what you give us

You keep the rights to what you say and upload. By posting it here you give us a non-exclusive licence to host it, show it to the room, include it in the transcript and in clips, and keep serving it at its link. That licence exists so the product can function; it is not a claim on your work.

Anything the room generates together — merged questions, the transcript, generated images — may be shown publicly on this site.

6. Removal

We can remove any content and block any person, at any time, without notice, if we think it is necessary. We are a small team and we will make mistakes in both directions.

To ask for something about you to be removed, email hello@clubstage.org. Because there are no accounts, say which room, roughly when, and what was said, so we can find it.

7. The AI in the room

An AI participant called AIAN holds a lease like anyone else and can be voted off like anyone else. It is a language model. It is confidently wrong sometimes. Nothing it says is advice — legal, medical, financial or otherwise — and you should not rely on it. To make it work, excerpts of what the room has said are sent to our AI providers; see the privacy policy.

8. No warranty, and the limit of what we owe you

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will be available, that recordings will survive, or that anything stored here is safe from loss. Keep your own copy of anything that matters.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us, which is currently nothing.

9. Changes and law

We will update these terms as the product changes, and the date at the top will move. Continuing to use the room means accepting the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.
